1. If You Believe You Are Covered By Medical Insurance

You are strongly advised to contact your insurer, before your first appointment, to

  • Check that you are covered for a psychiatric disorder
  • Check the limits of the cover provided for outpatient treatment and
  • Request a membership number and an authorisation or claim number.

Your insurer will usually require you to be referred to Dr Raman Sakhuja and/or Dr Sanjeev Sharma by your General Practitioner, or by another specialist to whom you were originally referred by your GP.

  1. If you are covered by BUPA, AXA PPP, AVIVA, VITALITY, SIMPLY HEALTH, or WPA, and would prefer us to claim his fees direct from your insurer on your behalf, please provide the membership and authorisation number and email it to info@walespsychiatrycentre.com
  2. If you are covered by a different insurer or wish to make the claim yourself, bring your claim form with you to your first consultation with the relevant Consultant so that he can complete it. You can then forward it to the insurer with the invoice that you will subsequently receive from him. You are responsible for forwarding the invoice (or any subsequent invoices) to your insurer with your claim form or authorisation number. You can also pay directly and send the receipt to your insurer with a request for reimbursement. If any query arises about payment, you are responsible for contacting your insurer. Where we does not receive payments promptly from the insurance company, he will send you a statement and ask you to enquire about the payment. In case 2 of non-payment or a shortfall under the terms of your insurance, you are responsible for settling the outstanding balance. Failure to make payment within 14 days of receipt of request for payment will result in the matter being referred to a debt collecting agent, whose charges will be added to, and be payable with, the invoiced amount.

2. If You Are Paying Personally

If you are paying for your consultation with Dr Sakhuja and/or Dr Sharma personally, you will receive an invoice following the appointment, with details of how to pay. If you pay at CCR after your appointment please note they only accept debit card payments. We also have a facility that you can pay via credit card/debit card online and this link can be emailed out by the secretary.

3. If An Organisation Or Another Person Is Paying For You

If an organisation, or any person other than you, is responsible for paying for your treatment, please complete the form you are sent and ensure that your sponsor signs it as well to signify agreement. Failure to make a payment within 14 days of receipt of the invoice will result in the matter being referred to a debt collecting agent, whose charges will be added to, and be payable with, the invoice amount.

4. Letters And Prescriptions

All letters above and beyond what Dr Sakhuja and/or Dr Sharma provides as part of his appointment services, e.g. To Whom It May Concern letters, will be subject to a £75 admin fee. The charges of all prescriptions on the website. These admin fees are payable direct by the patient, payable on provision of the letter or prescription. Dr Sakhuja may make a charge for some emails to patients and is entirely at his discretion.
